44 North Coffee Position -- Production and Retail Manager
This is a position of strength in multitudes of areas - communication with the coffee roaster and management of your production team - weekly organization of order flow with special importance pointed towards the ability to execute and pack with accuracy on a deadline - inventory tracking and reordering so we are ahead of zero stock situations - attention to detail and quality as well as passion for the cause.
Duties include:
- Understanding the safety protocols and requirements when working nearby a hot machine and within a production space
- Organization of daily orders - wholesale, web, customer and monthly coffee subscriptions
- Organization of shipping boxes for outgoing daily packages
- Printing web labels with the most affordable shipping option
- Writing notes for individual web orders and matching the appropriate labels by customer name
- Weighing and bagging with accuracy and proper protocol for packaging
- Careful assembly of each box so coffee does not get damaged in transit
- Organization and printing of shipping labels and materials
- Prepare and double check invoices and shipping labels
- Stock assessment on all packaging materials / retail coffee for our cafes / resale coffee brewing equipment / 44 north swag and products
- Maintaining a method of inventory tracking that works for entire team
- Ordering of materials / resale items that are running low
- Daily / weekly / monthly cleaning of production space at 56 Church
- Daily communication and coordination with Roaster / Wholesale Manager
- Communication and problem solving with Megan and Melissa when maintaining stock issues come up
- Communicate to Melissa and Megan if a customer has any issues concerning invoices, shipping or payables
- Bringing new ideas and concepts to the table as well as constructive suggestions
Physical demands:
- Ability to co-lift 150 bag of green coffee to waist level
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of coffee and product
- Ability to see, hear, taste, and speak within the workspace
- Ability to stand most of the day and also squat, turn, and bend with ease

This is a position of strength in multitudes of areas - communication with your customers, cafe team, and production team - assessment and communication of cafe needs on a daily basis - preparation of delicious beverages with a pleasant customer service encounter each and every time - staff training and constructive feedback - attention to detail and quality as well as passion for the cause.
Duties include:
- Understanding the safety protocols and requirements when working nearby hot water and coffee equipment
- Organization of daily cafe offerings
- Maintaining cafe stock and preparing beverages for the following day (ex: cold brew)
- Custom bagging of coffee for cafe customers
- Communication of larger orders to roastery and providing a ‘ready by’ time to customer
- Thorough understanding and maintenance to point of sales system / Square
- Communicating stock assessment on all packaging materials / retail coffee for our cafes / resale coffee brewing equipment / 44 north swag and products
- Keeping the workplace clean and organized
- Participation in the cleaning checklist and open-close protocols
- Daily / weekly cleaning of cafe space at 7 Main St
- Communication and problem solving with Megan and Melissa when issues come up
- Communicate to Melissa and Megan if a customer has an issue or complaint
- Professionalism when dealing with customers, especially difficult ones
- Bringing new ideas and concepts to the table as well as constructive suggestions to better educate our team and our customers
Physical demands:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds of coffee onto mixing stool and lower back to floor
- Ability to see, hear, taste, and speak
- Ability to stand most of the day and also squat, turn, and bend with ease
